The problem
At the firm, you built slides at speed: aligning objects, formatting text, and assembling decks with muscle memory. Then you moved to a corporate role, and all of that disappeared.
Now you're back to right-clicking menus, hunting through the ribbon, and spending twice as long on half the slides. SlideShortcuts gives you that speed back.
Why SlideShortcuts
Align left, right, center, top, bottom, middle. Distribute evenly. Group + align in one stroke. Twelve shortcuts that replace the entire Format menu.
Match widths, heights, or exact positions across objects. Copy position from one shape, paste it onto ten. Resize-to-fit text without dragging handles.
Group, ungroup, bring forward, send back. Plus jump to the next shape on the slide with Alt + arrow keys (Option + arrow on a Mac). No more squinting at the selection pane.
Insert textbox, sticker, footnote, legend, sticky note, new slide. Smart paste from Excel that grabs your formatting. Nine shortcuts you'll use daily.
Word wrap, font size, line spacing, default text format. Pickup style and apply style across shapes. Split or join textboxes with one stroke.
Swap two objects, select similar shapes, group horizontally or vertically, convert any shape to dots. Five ribbon-grade actions on Alt + 5–9 on Windows (Cmd + Option + 5–8 and Cmd + Option + Shift + D on a Mac).
Jump to Normal, Slide Sorter, or Fit-to-Window views without the View tab. Print the full deck straight from the keyboard, or n-up handouts on Windows.
On Windows, the SlideShortcuts tab draws 16 kinds of chart, from stacked bars to waterfall, Mekko and Gantt, as real PowerPoint shapes: double-click one to edit its data, and one Ctrl+Z takes it off. It also adds Check Pages and Check Layout, Clean Up (client codenames, file properties, anything off the slide), Find and Replace, Number Formats and Fill Boxes. Templates puts any of 531 consulting pages into your deck, in your deck's own colors and fonts, and Icons has 2,000+. All built in.
All 70+ shortcuts & commands
New · Also for Google Slides
The same chords (align, distribute, resize, order, group) as a Chrome extension for Google Slides. One subscription covers PowerPoint and Slides, so if you already have a key, you're already paid up.
Add it from the Chrome Web Store, paste the same license key into the extension's options, and your shortcuts are live in every deck, in Chrome on Mac or Windows. A few selection commands (same size, swap, copy and paste position) also need the free Google Slides add-on. Nothing new to buy.

FAQ
Yes. SlideShortcuts runs on PowerPoint for Windows (2016, 2019, 2021, 2024 and Microsoft 365) and PowerPoint for Mac (16.66 or later, on macOS 13 or later). The keyboard shortcuts install from slideshortcuts.com/setup: SlideShortcuts.msi on Windows, with no admin rights needed, and SlideShortcuts.pkg (the SlideShortcuts Mac app) on a Mac. The free add-in on Microsoft AppSource adds the panels only, not the shortcuts.
SlideShortcuts uses key combinations PowerPoint doesn't assign by default. For instance, Ctrl Alt C (align center) is the shortcut for Microsoft Copilot, and you'll have to disable it and its background processes for the shortcut to work. If you ever hit a conflict with a custom macro or another add-in, email support@slideshortcuts.com with the shortcut and we'll either help you remap or document the conflict. On a Mac you can change any key yourself: S menu > Customize Shortcuts.
Yes. SlideShortcuts works on PowerPoint for Mac 16.66 and later. The free add-in panel (Quick Actions, Symbols, Lines, Table, Icons, Excel and the Shortcuts reference) works on both platforms. The keyboard shortcuts on Mac come from the SlideShortcuts Mac app: signed, notarized by Apple, and set up for you by the installer (see FAQ #5 for details). If your company blocks Office Store add-ins, the Mac app can add its own SlideShortcuts tab to PowerPoint instead.
SlideShortcuts.msi installs SlideShortcuts for Windows for you alone, with no admin rights: one signed file in your user profile, and the entries in your part of the registry that tell PowerPoint to load it. Nothing goes in Program Files, nothing runs in the background, and no system settings change. The SlideShortcuts tab's windows, its 531 templates, 2,000+ icons and the country flags are all inside that one file, so it needs no web pages: it goes online only to check your license, to send an anonymous usage count and, if you say yes, your shortcut counts. To remove it, open Settings, then Apps, then SlideShortcuts, and click Uninstall. Updated from an older version and see a second SlideShortcuts tab at the end of the ribbon? That's the optional panel older versions added from the Office Store. Everything is now on the main tab, so you can keep it or remove it: in PowerPoint choose Home, Add-ins, More Add-ins, then My Add-ins, right-click SlideShortcuts and choose Remove (on older versions, Insert, then My Add-ins).
The SlideShortcuts Mac app is a small menu-bar app, signed with our Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple, that provides the keyboard-shortcut hooks PowerPoint for Mac doesn't expose to add-ins natively (Mac PowerPoint has no equivalent of the keyboard hook SlideShortcuts for Windows runs inside PowerPoint on a PC). macOS requires one-time Accessibility permission for any app that responds to keyboard shortcuts system-wide; the installer walks you through granting it, and macOS also asks you to let it control PowerPoint. It only acts while PowerPoint is the active app, runs your shortcuts entirely on your Mac, and never sees or transmits your slide content. One app, signed in our name, with nothing else to install.
Unless you cancel, your trial becomes the plan you picked, monthly or annual, on day 7, and the same key keeps working. Cancel before then and you pay nothing; the shortcuts stop when the trial ends. No uninstall needed, and your PowerPoint files are not affected.
Yes. Your license is tied to your purchase email. Activate it on whatever machines you use (work laptop, home desktop, Mac and Windows). If you ever lose access to your license, email support@slideshortcuts.com and we'll get you back up.
The shortcuts are designed by former MBB consultants, adapted from the muscle memory you built at the firm. If you've spent time in PowerPoint at McKinsey, BCG, Bain, or a peer firm, the keystrokes will feel immediately familiar: same actions, same mappings, same speed.
SlideShortcuts runs locally inside PowerPoint and never reads or transmits your slide content, file names, or document data. To activate, it sends your email and license key to slideshortcuts.com, encrypted in transit, only to check your subscription. It also sends an anonymous usage count (a random install ID, your platform and the app version, with no email, key or slide content), and daily shortcut counts only if you say yes. From 1 November 2026, a new install also sends one more number with it: how many commands it ran on its first day, never which ones. On Windows that is all it sends: the tab's windows, templates, icons and flags are built into SlideShortcuts for Windows. Full details in our Privacy Policy.
It's safe: this is a reputation prompt, not a virus warning. Because SlideShortcuts is a new product, Microsoft Defender SmartScreen sometimes shows a "Windows protected your PC" message on installers it hasn't seen many times yet. That's routine for new software and clears as more people install it. Click More info, check that the publisher is 1183 Ventures LLC, then Run anyway; if your browser warns while downloading, choose Keep. 1183 Ventures LLC, the company behind SlideShortcuts, is a real, registered business, and its founder, Davon Robertson, is on LinkedIn. Still unsure? Email support@slideshortcuts.com before installing and we'll walk you through it.
On Windows, yes. The SlideShortcuts tab draws 16 kinds of chart, including stacked, 100%, waterfall, Mekko, line, pie, scatter and Gantt, as ordinary PowerPoint shapes. Double-click a chart to open its data sheet, and one Ctrl+Z takes a new chart off again. Because they're ordinary shapes, decks with these charts open and print anywhere, on a Mac too, without SlideShortcuts. The first chart in a PowerPoint session takes about two seconds to start; Charts needs Microsoft Edge WebView2, which Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 include.
