SlideShortcuts is a PowerPoint productivity add-in and a Google Slides Chrome extension, published by 1183 Ventures LLC. This policy explains, in plain English, exactly what personal data we collect, what we do with it, and what we never touch. If you'd rather skip ahead, the short version is: we collect your purchase email, your name and your license key (issued by us, or by Lemon Squeezy for earlier purchases), we don't track your behavior, we don't sell your data, and we never look at the slides you build with SlideShortcuts.
Who we are
SlideShortcuts is operated by 1183 Ventures LLC, a U.S. limited liability company. The product is published and supported by 1183 Ventures LLC. Subscriptions bought on slideshortcuts.com are sold by Stripe, through its Link service, as merchant of record. Earlier purchases were sold by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record. What we collect
We collect the minimum data needed to deliver and validate your license:

What we do not collect
- The contents of your slides. The add-in runs locally inside PowerPoint and never transmits slide content, document text, images, or any other file content to our servers.
- Feature-level tracking. The add-in does not report which buttons you click or which shortcuts you run, and it never sends the contents of a slide. The only signal it sends is the anonymous usage count described under "What we collect".
- Anything from update checks. The SlideShortcuts Mac app looks for a newer version twice a day by downloading a small public file from slideshortcuts.com, the same file our setup page reads. That request carries no install ID, no email, no license key and nothing from your slides. Like any visit to our site, it appears in our host's standard server logs (see Netlify below).
- Keystrokes, screen captures, or clipboard contents. The add-in's keyboard shortcuts are dispatched locally by Office; we never see them.
- Payment card details. Payments are handled by Stripe (through Link) for subscriptions bought on slideshortcuts.com, and by Lemon Squeezy for earlier purchases. We never see, store, or transmit your card number, CVV, or billing address.
- Tracking inside the add-in. The add-in sets no advertising or analytics cookies, and uses local browser
localStorageonly to remember your license email between sessions. Our public marketing website is separate and does use analytics and advertising cookies: see "Marketing-site analytics" above. You can change your choice for those cookies at any time: . When you start a checkout on slideshortcuts.com, our site also sets one functional cookie, for 24 hours, so that only the browser that started the checkout can show your new key on the welcome page. It is not used for analytics or advertising.
Third-party services we use
We use a small set of well-known infrastructure providers. Each receives only the minimum data required for its function:

How the license check works
Most keys are UUIDs. The apps send the key to slideshortcuts.com, which checks the subscription behind it with Stripe or, for keys bought through Lemon Squeezy, with Lemon Squeezy. Older keys work as follows.
When you first activate the add-in, you enter your purchase email. The add-in computes a deterministic hash of your email + a server-side salt and stores the hash (not the email) in browser localStorage on Mac, or in the Windows registry on Windows. On subsequent loads, the add-in calls our license-verification endpoint with the email; the server confirms the email maps to an active subscription record and returns the canonical license status. The verify call carries only your email and is made over HTTPS.
If you have an active subscription and lose network connectivity, the add-in continues to work in offline mode for up to 7 days (the "offline grace period") before requiring re-verification.
SlideShortcuts for Google Slides (Chrome extension)
We also publish SlideShortcuts for Google Slides, a Chrome extension that brings the same keyboard shortcuts to Google Slides. It is covered by this policy, and it collects no more than the add-in does.
- Where it runs. Only on
docs.google.com/presentationpages. It is inert everywhere else on the web. - What it does on the page. It reads the Google Slides menu structure so that, when you press a shortcut, it can activate the matching menu command on your behalf: the same command you could click yourself.
- What it never touches. It does not read, transmit, or store the content of your presentations: no text, no shapes, no images, no file names.
- What it sends, and where. The email address and license key you enter to activate it. Those go to slideshortcuts.com, solely to confirm that your subscription is active. For a key bought through Lemon Squeezy, slideshortcuts.com asks Lemon Squeezy. Separately, at most once a day, it sends slideshortcuts.com the anonymous usage count described under "What we collect": a random install ID, your operating system type, the extension's version number, which service it checks licenses with, and whether a license is active. That count carries no email, no key and nothing from your presentations.
- What it stores. Your keymap and your license record (email, key, and the date of the last successful check) are held in Chrome's extension storage on your own devices. Chrome may sync that storage between Chrome profiles you are signed in to, under your own Google account. Removing the extension removes it.
- No tracking. Apart from that anonymous daily count, the extension contains no analytics, no telemetry, and no advertising code, and it loads no remote code. Everything it runs ships inside the package.
A few shortcuts need to know which shapes you have selected, and those rely on an optional companion: the SlideShortcuts Google Workspace add-on. You install and authorize it separately, and Google shows you exactly what it asks for. It requests a single scope, presentations.currentonly, which lets it act only on the presentation open at the time. It runs inside your own Google account, and none of that content reaches us.
Consulting Slides (a plugin for Claude)
We also publish Consulting Slides, a free plugin of writing instructions for Claude, Anthropic's AI assistant. It runs entirely inside Claude: it has no connectors, makes no network calls, and sends us nothing and stores nothing. What you paste or attach stays in your conversation with Claude, under Anthropic's privacy policy.
Data sharing and sales
We do not sell, rent, lease, or otherwise share your personal data with any third party for marketing or advertising purposes. The only entities that receive any of your data are the infrastructure providers listed above, each of whom is contractually obligated to process the data solely on our behalf.
Your rights
Regardless of where you live, you can:
- Request a copy of the data we hold on you
- Request that we correct any inaccurate data
- Request that we delete your account and all associated data (note: deletion will revoke your license; if you have an active paid subscription, please cancel first: at slideshortcuts.com/account/ (or in your Link account) for a subscription bought on slideshortcuts.com, or in your Lemon Squeezy customer portal, linked from each purchase receipt, for an earlier one. You can also ask Link to delete what Stripe holds about you; Stripe then cancels your subscription and tells us, and we delete our copy)
- Withdraw consent for transactional emails by contacting us (we will continue to send security-relevant emails such as license-expiry notices)
To exercise any of these rights, email support@slideshortcuts.com from the address on file. We respond within 30 days.
If you are in the EU / UK (GDPR)
Our legal basis for processing your data is contract performance, we process the data needed to deliver the product you purchased and to provide support for it. For trial users, our basis is your consent (granted when you start the trial); you can withdraw at any time by emailing us. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
If you are in California (CCPA / CPRA)
We do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under California law. You have the right to know what we collect, to request deletion, and to non-discrimination for exercising your rights. To submit a request, email support@slideshortcuts.com.
Data security
All data in transit travels over HTTPS. License-key records are stored in Netlify Blobs with access tokens scoped per-function. Email delivery via Resend uses TLS. We do not store passwords (the product does not have user accounts in the traditional sense, license validation is email-based).
Children
SlideShortcuts is a professional productivity tool not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
International transfers
Our infrastructure providers operate primarily in the United States. If you access SlideShortcuts from outside the U.S., your data will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. By using the product, you consent to this transfer.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced via a banner on the marketing site at least 14 days before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
